Super Eagles and Lille Football club of France star Victor Osimhen was named Africa footballer of the year in France, after his excellent performance for his club in the just concluded season.
Victor Osimhen was nominated for the award with his compatriot Moses Simon who plies his trade with Nantes FC, and eight other African footballers plying their trades in France.
The former Wolfsburg FC of Germany striker was like a shinning star among Lille players in the just concluded season, as he scored the total number of 18 goals with six assist for the club.
Victor Osimhen is now the second Nigerian star to win the award after super eagles Legendary goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama won the award in 2014.
When he was appreciating his fans and those who voted him as Africa footballer of the year in France, Victor Osimhen posted on his Twitter handle that:
“Grateful to God Almighty 🙏🙏 I dedicate this amazing award to my late father 💗 thanks for those who voted for me, and also a big shoutout goes [email protected] and the rest of the nominees… thank you once more 🙏.”
