There are different kinds of players on the pitch despite the fact that football is game without changes.

In every team there is always a quality which makes a player different from others, this could be good or bad, decent or dirty quality. Now talking about the dirty ones, despite the fact that football is game that does not change, those players tend to change the game and it is with respect to the way they play.

Those are players who turn the game into a physical fight that sometimes even result to serious injuries, with dirty tackles and sometimes head boots. we have however decided to mention a few. Below is a list of the most dirtiest players in football.

Duncan Ferguson

One of the the most dirtiest players in the history of the premier league. While playing for Everyone, Ferguson picked up eight red cards, making history as one of the most feared players in the game. As a Rangers player, the Scott also spent three months in jail after head-butting John McStay, which was regarded rather as an assult.

Roy Keane

Former Manchester United Keane suffered an injury at the hands of for Norwegian international Alf Haaland while United played against Leeds United back in 1997. Upon recovery, the Irishman waited patiently for a rematch against Haaland who later joined Man City. During the derby match, Keane fouled the player so hard that it ended his career instantly. A foul which the former United player admitted after retirement it an act of vengeance in his autobiography.

Nigel De Jong

One of the greatest bad boys in the EPL, De Jong will always be remembered for breaking the entire leg bones (fibula and tibia) of former Newcastle forward Ben Arfa who also needed oxygen at the moment to survive. He later proceeded by also breaking American international Stuart Holden’s leg while playing in a friendly match. He later became famous by kicking Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso in the chest in a world cup final match in 2010. A karate kick which was regarded as an assult on the Spanish player.

Joey Barton

Fleetwood Town manager and former Queen’s Park Rangers midfielder Barton picked up 9 red cards during his career. Barton punched Tom Huddleston in the groin and also left a mark on Sergio Aguero with a kick and also picked up a twelve match ban for elbowing Tevez both of Manchester City.

Lee Cattermole

Former Sunderland captain Cattermole earned 75 yellow cards and 7 red cards alongside his salary. He hardly finished a match without being booked.

Ron Harris

He was nicknamed “the chopper”. Harris always threw players into a heart attack at the mention of a match against Chelsea. Till date, Harris still holds the record for the most deadliest tackle in the history of football.

Kevin Muscat

The Australian made a lot of enemies during his time as an active footballer. Picking up 123 yellow cards and 12 red cards, Muscat also sent former England player Matty Holmes at the age of 30 with an injury which almost led to the player’s leg being amputated after going through four surgeries. Till date, the player’s leg work could be seeing on many players.

Diego Costa

Having displayed his temper for everyone to see, it is with no argument that Costa, while at nearly ripped off Martin Skrtel’s skin off his face, a stamp on Lalana is one of the most dirtiest players in history.
