Arsenal have dumped Manchester City out of the FA Cup after a 2-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s side in the semi-final at Wembley Stadium.
Now, City’s only chance of adding to their trophy haul for this season comes in the form of the Champions League.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted both goals for Mikel Arteta’s men, one either side of half time, to send them to their first FA Cup final since 2017 and the 21st in their history.
After failing to defend their Premier League title, City now give up the FA Cup they won last season too, leaving them with only the Carabao Cup and Community Shield from this campaign.
Real Madrid now stand in their way of progressing further in the Champions League, with the second leg of their last-16 tie to take place at the Etihad Stadium on August 7.
City will now have an extra week to prepare for that second leg, with Arsenal competing in the FA Cup final against either Chelsea or Manchester United on August 1.
